Day of the Dead, also known as Dia de los Muertos, is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. It is a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away: colorful decorations, lively music, and food and flowers to the deceased mark the holiday. Many people visit cemeteries to clean and decorate graves, while others create altars with photos, candles, and other meaningful items in their homes. Despite its association with death, the Day of the Dead is a joyful celebration of life and a way to keep the memories of loved ones alive.
